Detailed Information:
Jamal Ud-Deen Hysaw originally from Chicago, Illinois, obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University. In the summer of 1992, he embraced Islam and subsequently travelled to Damascus, Syria where he studied Arabic
and Islamic Studies at Abu Nur and the University of Damascus for three years.
Further studies took him to Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim, Yemen where he studied with the Haba'ib scholars for another five years. Prominent among his teachers were the Habib Umar bin Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafizh, Habib Ali Zayn al-Abideen al-Jifry.
He has obtained teaching licences from his teachers to teach and comment on books of Shafi' Fiqh, 'Aqida, Hadith, Tafsir, and the Sciences of the Heart.
He presently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his family where he conducts regular learning programs, study circles, seminars and retreats.
