Muslim Women in Scotland: Global Events, National Issues, Local Lives

The project is academic which looks at the lives of Muslim women in Scotland and aims to review the migration of Muslim women to Scotland and understand key events which have affected or shaped the lives of Scottish Muslim women.

The project also looks at ways in which Muslim women have integrated into Scotland and how they feel they are perceived by the media and public. Alongside this, the research is jointly funded by The Scottish Government and ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) and plans to explore the service needs of Muslim women and ways in which they are, or are not, currently being met.

The project would like to give Muslim women the opportunity to voice their concerns and experiences, both positive and negative. The results from the study may go on to inform public policy and address the service needs of Scottish Muslim women.
